Portnox Enables New Albany Floyd County Consolidated School Corporation to Achieve Full NAC Deployment in Weeks

Austin, Texas — Dec. 9, 2025 — Portnox, a leader in cloud-native zero trust access control and cybersecurity solutions, today announced the successful deployment of its Portnox Cloud platform for the New Albany Floyd County Consolidated School Corporation (NAFCS) that streamlined device visibility and access control across the district’s 20 buildings and approximately 15,000 connected endpoints.

NAFCS, an Indiana K-12 district supporting over 13,000 students and staff, and a diverse device ecosystem including over 12,500 Chromebooks, faced growing cybersecurity concerns and decided to acquire a comprehensive NAC solution to manage its wired and wireless environments.

After evaluating multiple vendors, the district selected Portnox’s cloud-native NAC platform for its simplicity, speed of deployment, and scalability. “In just a few days, we implemented all of the necessary policies for our network,” said Christopher Bowers, IT Manager at NAFCS. “Portnox’s ability to scale has been very impressive. With the start of the new school year, we expanded from just a few hundred registered devices to well over 10,000 in a matter of days.”

“K–12 districts like NAFCS face the same level of cyber risk as large enterprises, but rarely with the same level of resources. That’s exactly where cloud-native access control shines,” said Denny LeCompte, CEO at Portnox. “By removing the complexity of traditional NAC, we empower small IT teams to achieve big-team outcomes — faster, easier, and without the expensive hardware tax. NAFCS’s rapid rollout is the kind of success story we built Portnox Cloud for.”

Key Highlights of the Deployment:

  • Completed a district-wide rollout of NAC in weeks, managed by a two-person network team.
  • Enabled seamless management of both managed endpoints and unmanaged/IoT devices across 20 buildings and roughly 15,000 devices.
  • Integrated with Google Workspace to support the district’s large Chromebook footprint. Delivered real-time visibility into all connected devices and eliminated the need for static switch port assignments: plug in a device, and Portnox does the rest.
  • Strengthened security posture and met compliance requirements while minimizing budget spend — Portnox Cloud deploys easily with no additional hardware required.

Unexpected Wins:

  • Rapid resolution of a Google Workspace sync issue by Portnox support.
  • Non-IT departments (such as Facilities) now have the autonomy to deploy IP-based systems without burdening the IT team.
