Portnox today proudly announces the RTM of its flagship solution’s latest version (v2.4). Wrapping together over 50 feature requests and addressing varying prior issues, v2.4 greatly enhances Portnox’s functionality in managing mobile device access, addressing network clutter as well as significant interoperability enhancements.

Portnox v2.4 introduces three new modules to the platform:

  1. The first, named AgentP, enables overnight visibility and control of mobile devices. Deployed over the cloud, in minutes, Agent P provides device status (jailbreak/rootkit detection), device location and user-authentication to be used in all access policies. AgentP is available for iOS and Android on the iTunes AppStore and Google Play.
  2. AgentP reports back to Portnox’s new cloud platform named NewCastle. Enabling solutions such as BYOD control and guest networking, Portnox NewCastle provides enterprise-grade NAC functionality without the need for on premise servers or appliances. A simple registration and download of lightweight policy enforcement point ensures Portnox NewCastle can visualize and control all BYOD and guest devices on the wireless LAN.
  3. Network Clutter – allows Portnox to address all the various devices found on the network that arent directly associated to a switch or access point. This greatly increases network visibility and hygiene and has proven effective in addressing complex cyber threats (APT, etc.)

Enhancements include support for multiple browsers (including Chrome and Firefox), default inspection for user admin rights (the source of m0st vulnerabilities today) as well as improved reporting, scale and reliability.

Customers seeking to upgrade should contact their Portnox partner or support contact to obtain the new software.
