Portnox CFO Bryce Birdsong has been recognized by the Austin Business Journal as a winner in its 2026 Best CFOs Awards, taking the top spot in the small company category.

The recognition caps off a standout 2025 for Birdsong, who joined Portnox three years ago. Since then, he’s built the financial model the company now runs on, one he updates every quarter to guide headcount planning and expense management. That discipline paid off last year: Birdsong was a critical contributor to Portnox’s $37.5 million funding round, guided revenue growth well above the cybersecurity industry average, and steadily brought down the company’s burn rate, all at the same time.

Like many high-growth companies, Portnox had outgrown its early finance and accounting infrastructure and faced real challenges capturing and reporting the right data in real time. It was a good problem to have, but one that called for a finance leader who could build the right foundation, which is exactly what Birdsong did.

CEO Denny LeCompte put it simply in Birdsong’s nomination: he’s not a CFO who stays in his lane. He’s a full partner across the business who pushes LeCompte’s own thinking, and the company is better for it.

Congratulations to Bryce on a well-earned honor, and on three years of work that’s given Portnox the financial foundation to grow with confidence.
